Coffee Morning: A Coffee morning in aid of Daffodil Day will be held on Tuesday 19th March between 11am - 1pm in Townawilly Community Centre. All proceeds will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society. Come along and support this worthwhile cause.

Donegal G.A.A. Fundraiser: Four Masters are calling on members and supports to join in the Fun Run/Walk 5k in Ballybofey on Saturday 6th April starting at 11am. The club is looking for members, family/friends to take part in this event. Sponsorship cards available, for further information contact Eamonn Gorrell or Deborah Dunnion. Every participant from the club will be kitted out in club colours.

Mass for Peace: The monthly diocesan Mass for Peace will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church,Dongal Town on Thursday, 21st March at 8p.m.

GAA Under 10’s: As the Four Masters Under 10’s commenced training on Wednesday 6th March, huge numbers of young footballers turned out, despite the inclement weather all the young footballers were keen to get going. Present to deal with the huge numbers was a tight team of highly qualified coaches. The GAA having implemented a programme of training across the 32 Counties to ensure that all coaches are trained to a certain level. From Foundation level up. A very impressive training plan for the Underage teams is being rolled out within the Club, so we can expect to see more Barry Dunnion’s, Karl Lacey’s and Paul Durcan’s in the future! Training for the Under 10’s takes place every Wednesday from 6.15 - 7.30. All players must be members of the Club. Annual fee is only 20 euro. All children must wear gumshields. Farmers Market: Donegal Town Farmers Market will take place this Saturday 10am-3pm. The market as a wide variety of beautiful local artisan produce. It is a lovely place to pop along and meet friends and neighbours for a couple of hours.

Scór: Scór is a GAA competiton that combines all the colour and rivalry of Gaelic Games with the social/fun element of our traditional pass-times. There are eight events/disciplines in Scór that cover all aspects of Irish culture. Figure/Céilí dancing, Solo singing, instrumental music, recitation/scéalaíocht, ballad group, novelty act, question time and set dancing. The competition is divided into two age levels, Scór na nÓg, for young people under 17 and Scór Sinsear, for those over 17. During Seachtain na Gaeilge Club na gCeithre Maistrí are running a competition for the best art, poetry or essay about Scór na nÓg for age groups U10, U12 and Under 16 in the three section. Four Masters’ Lotto Results: There was a jackpot winner of the Annual Lotto for Week 35. Damien Dunnion, Keadue, was the lucky winner of the jackpot of 1,900 euro. The numbers drawn were 9, 12, 17, 24.

Hurling/Camogie: The Hurling and Camogie got off to an amazing start last Friday evening (8th March). Huge numbers of children were out in force. Obviously the structures and coaches in place are having a huge positive impact on the children involved as the numbers continue to grow. Children from other clubs, including, St. Nauls and Naomh Bríd are able to participate in hurling and camogie at the Four Masters and the participation of children from right across the locality is fantastic. Gaelscoil: Gaelscoil na gCeithre Maistrí will hold an open evening on Thursday 21st March from 5-7pm. Application forms are available from the schools office for anyone wishing to enrol their child in the school for 2013/2014. For further information please contact Nóirín on 074 972 1095.

Under 8’s GAA: The Under 8’s football coaching for boys born 2005 and 2006 commences on Tuesday 19th March at the Four Masters All Weather pitch from 6.30pm til 7.30pm. Family Resource Centre: There are a raft of activities going on within the Donegal Family Resource Centre on Upper main Street, Donegal Town. On Monday’s in the St. John Bosco Centre Social Dancing takes place from 11am – 1pm, this is fantastic community event which has been running for many years now within the Town, pop along and try it out, you’ll definitely enjoy it. Also, kicking off from the St John Bosco Centre and organised by the Family Resource Centre is the Green Exercise Walking Group. The group meets every Thursday at 10am for a guided walk and refreshments and the cost is only 5 euro per person. Meeting in the office on Upper Main Street every Wednesday from 2pm – 4pm is the Knitting Group. This is a wonderful group and new members are always welcome, crochet classes have started recently, again why not call in and check it out? On Monday night’s the AWARE support group meet at the office at 7.30pm. This is a support group for people who suffer from depression, if you feel you would like a safe space to meet with others who may be able to support you please call in. Toastmasters, which is a group set up for people who wish to practice public speaking meet at the Office on Upper main Street every Tuesday at 7.45, is this is something that appeals, pop along and check it out! The Walking Group have organised a trip to Belfast and this will take place on Thursday 21st March. There will be a full day speant in Béal Feirste to explore the ‘Titanic Quarter’ and the City in general. The following day the group will vist the beautiful Glen of Antrim and on towards the mystical Giants Causeway. The trip includes an overnight stay in a hotel b&B and the bus and all this for only 60 euro! Additional meals and entrance fees are extra. Places are very limited, so please call the Centre (074 972 5337) to book a place. A deposit is required. But this should be great fun.

Computer Course: Why not try a Computer Class? Learn to email, use skype, pay bills & book tickets online, social media in 5 weeks. The cost is only 20 euro but it is a must that you have some basic computer skills, the course is starting this month, March. Call Donegal Family Resource Centre on 074 972 5337 for further info.

HSE Self-Management Course: The HSE in Donegal is providing a self management course for people with long term conditions and Carers of people with long term conditions that promotes self care. Self care means looking after yourself and your general health so that you can manage your life and not just your condition. The course is free of charge and is run over six weekly sessions, each lasting 2 ½ hours. Your local course will commence on Thursday, 21st March at 10.30am to 1pm in the Donegal Family Resource Centre, Donegal Town. Leghowney: Congratulations to Pearl and Kevin Molloy on the recent birth of their daughter Kayla - a new addition to the Leghowney townland and someone else for proud grandparents Gerry and Margaret to spoil!

Further congratulations to all the young boys and girls in the locality who made their Confirmation on Saturday 2nd. The sun shone and they were all a credit to their families and school, with readings, prayers etc. carried out by all members of their class.

Date for the diary, Easter Saturday the fund raising walk organised by Leghowney Foroige of the newly opened “Leghowney Loop”. And if that’s not enough exertion, there will be a dance in aid of the Alzheimer’s Association on Easter Monday night, with music by Country Traditions.
