The second annual K*fest takes place this Sunday at The Blue Haven, Kilcar.
Two enterprising ladies, Carrie and Stephanie Bennett started up the event last year to raise funds for an Ardara girl who was receiving treatment for cancer.
Last year’s festival, held at The Beehive Bar in Ardara, was a huge success, attracting big crowds and raising just under 10,000 euro.
All the proceeds of this year’s K*fest will be going to a family in Kilcar battling leukemia, a family in Killybegs with a child with Cystic Fibrosis, and a man from Ardara who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
There will be a free shuttle bus to the event leaving Ardara at 6pm and Killybegs at 6.30pm.
Carrie and Stephanie encourage everyone to come along. “We want K*fest to be the success it can be and that success relies on the people in the surrounding communities who come out on the day to enjoy themselves and those who support us in other ways. That’s what made K*fest a huge fun filled day and will make it even bigger this year.”
The day kicks off at 2pm with bouncy castles, face painting and storytelling for the kids. There’s an amazing music line-up, with country stars Lisa Stanley and Simon Peters, local bands and artists such as The Dee Tee’s, Turbulent Eddy, Emily Whelan, Tanya McCole and Guilty of Rhythm.
There will be a WRC Rally Simulator Experience Car from 6pm which is an unmissable event for you avid rally fans.
There is also a Prize Draw for a luxury weekend away for two on the night and many other prizes to give away.
Also the GAP Run-A-Muck which takes place at 2pm on Sunday, in aid of the Tomas Maguire Fund, will have its prize giving for competitors at K*fest in the evening.
There will also be a free bus for all competitors leaving Ardara.
