The very best craft and art fair you’re likely to attend this year is on this Saturday at An Grianan Theatre, and entry is free!

There are items to suit every pocket from as little as a few euro right up to that very special present for that very special person in your life.

This is a carefully curated event with locally produced pottery and ceramics, textiles, batiks, fashion, jewellery, art prints and more from some of the finest designer/makers and artists in the North West. Come and savour the lovely atmosphere while you browse and enjoy a warming hot chocolate in our cafe.

Christmas Spirit LK

All month, Christmas Pete and his band of busy elves have been working away making Letterkenny feel festive with their Christmas Spirit LK campaign. Enough to melt the heart of a confirmed Grinch like myself! There’ll be a launch of the video and song this Thursday at An Grianan Theatre from 6pm until 8pm and all are welcome along.

Vintage Comedy

This Thursday, December 1, it’s the last Comedy Club of the year at Voodoo vintage and they’ve a cracking line up featuring Micky Bartlett, Ryan Cullen, who supported Steve O at Vicar Street last week and short sets from Paul Bonar and Deirdre McLaughlin. The fun starts around 9.30pm.

Without Willow

Without Willow, the Letterkenny based group were in Tralee at the weekend to compete in the IMRO Christie Hennessy Songwriting Competition.

Karen Kelly and Simon McCafferty have been steadily gaining recognition for their talents and are currently putting the finishing touches to their first release which they have been recording in the famed Attica studios in Termon. This will be their first recording employing a full band and I very much am looking forward to the results.

They’ll also be supporting Declan O’Rourke this coming Saturday, December 3, in An Grianan Theatre.

Liz Roche Dance company

Ever wondered what a professional dance show is like? On Tuesday, The Liz Roche Dance Company present their show Bastard Amber ( it’s the colour of a theatre light, not something rude!). Co-commissioned by the Abbey Theatre, Dublin Dance Festival and Kilkenny Arts Festival, the work’s premiere at Dublin Dance Festival in May 2015 was a historic moment for dance in Ireland, the first time ever for an Irish choreographer to be commissioned to create a full length dance work for the main stage of Ireland’s National Theatre. Show starts at 8pm.

Declan O’Rourke

The last time Declan O’Rourke played An Grianan Theatre was part of the fabulous The New Triangle show in 2015 alongside Dubliners legend John Sheahan and singer/songwriter Damien Dempsey. Now he’s back this Saturday, December 3 with a new album called In Full Colour, and will be accompanied on stage by a new band and a string quartet. This will be a very special evening. Tickets are still available on 079 120777 and angrianan.copm

ArtCo

This Wednesday, ArtCo, Pearse Road, Letterkenny are hosting a festive Arts & Craft Fair, showcasing the works of some wonderful local artists. So for that interesting stocking filler or something for yourself, pop along and make Christmas a joyous Arts & Craft filled time.

Cinderella

The Butt Drama Circle’s Cinderella is on at the Balor Arts Centre at the moment and it runs until December 9. Can Cinderella (Andrea Long) be united with her Prince Charming (Nathan Keys) or will her wicked stepmother (Margaret O'Neill) manage to dash her hopes? Call the Balor on 0749 161840 or go online at balorartscentre.com to find out!
