A goal in the first period of extra-time was all that separated two close sides at a wintry Lakeside, Ballyshannon, on Saturday morning.

There was little between the sides all through with Keadue having a good opening ten minutes, while the home side came strong towards the end of the first half.

Erne Wanderers had to thank their 'keeper Ryan Daly to be still on terms in the opening quarter as he made two excellent saves, especially the first one when he tipped an Aidan Brennan effort, which was bound for the top corner, over the bar.

He also denied Oran Fallon ten minutes later before Erne Wanderers came into the contest with Aaron Neilan heading wide from a good position and Eoghan Kelly blasting over. Kelly had another chance just before the break after good work by Jack Gallagher.

The second half was a much more cagey affair with both sets of defences on top. The Keadue 'keeper Dean Timoney was called into action on a couple of occasions, while Keadue had a good spell midway through the half, forcing three quick corners as Daly again came to the rescue of Erne Wanderers, palming an Oran Fallon header over the bar.

In extra-time, the breakthrough came seven minutes in when Jordan Saville got the vital goal. Erne Wanderers tried hard and had an effort taken off the line in the second period as Keadue held out for the win.

In a very closely contested affair, Ryan Daly, Damian Webber, Aaron Neilan, Eoghan Kelly and Jack Gallagher were best for Erne Wanderers while Jack Ward, Cillian Bonner, Aidan Brennan, Oran Fallon and Oisin McKelvey were best for Keadue.
