Comfortable win for St. Eunan's in Paul McGirr tournament semi-final

Donegal champions St Eunan’s are looking forward to an Ulster U-16 (Paul McGirr) final following Saturday afternoon’s semi-final win over Derry champions, O'Donovan Rossa, Magherafelt.

Darragh Ellison, Padraig McGettigan (2) and Michael Gallagher scored the goals as Pauric Ryan’s side came from behind to record a comfortable win.

After conceding an early goal and a point, St Eunan’s recovered to lead by four, 1-5 to 1-1 at half-time. Darragh Ellison scored the St Eunan’s goal.

Two quick Padraig McGettigan goals on the resumption ensured that St. Eunan's were able to take a firm grip on the tie.

Ten up, St Eunan’s moved up another gear and the game as a contest was long over before Michael Gallagher struck for goal No. 4.

In game that St Eunan’s dominated for most of the 60 minutes Sean Ryan was named man of the match.

Anthony Gallagher, Ronan McCann, Peter McEniff, Shane O’Donnell, Darragh Ellison, Michael Gallagher, Conor O'Donnell and Padraig McGettigan were the other standout players for St Eunan’s.

The final is next Saturday in Gardrum Park, Dromore with either Killeeshil (Tyrone) or Warrenpoint (Down) their opposition.
