Letterkenny rally driver Brian Brogan and his co-driver Damien McGettigan are celebrating rally success following their win in the Cork 20 National Rally yesterday.
The Letterkenny crew, in their Escort Mk 11, had one minute to spare over Tommy Moynihan and Liam Moynihan in a Renault Clio.
It was a hard fought win after having mechanical problems with the car on Saturday, which resulted in a crown wheel change.
On the stages, the conditions were tricky and damp which caused havoc throughout the field.
David Guest and Kilmacrenan man Paddy Robinson crashed their Evo while leading Group N.
It was also good day for Marty Gallagher who led the R2 category. Martin Doherty and Ray Scott had good run in in National in their Escort.
On Sunday Brogan and McGettigan were impressive as they claimed the win. They set blistering times all day when the conditions dried out and the stages were fast and flowing.
Doherty and Scott claimed 4th overall at the finish while Leon Jordan guided Barry McKenna to fifth overall .
This was a second National victory of the year for Brogan and McGettigan. They also won the West Cork Rally earlier in the season.
