The first leg of the Autumn Dressage League took place at Deanes Equestrian Centre last Sunday and plenty of elbow grease went into cleaning and polishing the horses for competition.
There were lots of nerves and excitement as riders prepared to kick off the autumn dressage league. Siomha Johnstone got the competition rolling in the lead-rein class with very good test.
Dean Burgess finished a very close second with only one mark in the difference between their scores.
It was a very good day for Darragh O’Donnell and his pony Harry, who looked spotless, as they won class 1b and Class 2 with scores over 64.00%.
Kelly Ann McGrath on Lady won Class 3 and Class 4 with a very nicely ridden test, she too scored over 63.00% in both tests but close behind was Hollie Bradley on Tango with a score of 61.05%
Class 5 and 6 was won by Cyndi Graham and her horse Dougal with two very good tests scoring over 62.00% in both. Kathie Boyle and UIsce claimed the win in Class 7.
Special mention goes to Amy Gardner and Ally McClay who both had their ponies looking fantastic with extra effort of bows in the ponies manes. Many thanks to our judge Dymphna Lonergan and scribes on the day.
The next leg of the dressage league takes place on Sunday the 2nd October with the final on the 16th of October.
