DONEGAL JUNIOR LEAGUE

League action in Voodoo Venue Cup

The league action on Saturday was in the Voodoo Venue Cup. There were wins for Kilmacrennan Celtic Res; Dunlewey Celtic, Strand Rovers, Keadue Rvs Res and Orchard were winnersv- all away from home.

Drumbar failed to field in Arranmore while the Milford v St. Catherine’s Res game was postponed due to waterlogged pitch.

Goals from Brendan Bannon, Michael Ward (pen) and Paddy Glacking were enough for Strand Rovers over Cappry Rvs Res.

Aidan Ward (2) and Aiden Gillespie got the goals as Keadue got the better of Glencar Celtic. Kevin O’Donnell got the Glencar goal to make it 1-1 at that stage.

Orchard put four past Donegal Town Res in this reversed fixture. It was close for long periods but two late goals, one from Michael Sweeney, was enough for Orchard. Conor Rooney and Gary Ward were the home scorers.

Saturday Reserve Division

Castlefin Celtic Res 4

Drumoghill F.C. Res 3

In the only game in the Reserve Division Castlefin had a narrow victory as they held out against a late Drumoghill revival. Paul Logue, Keith Nelis (2) and Marty Owens had Castlefin 4-0 up before the break, but Drumoghill had a good second half with Mark Gibson, Gavin Doran and Gareth Hamilton finding the range to make for a nervy finish.
