Naomh Conaill impress in win over Four Masters

Naomh Conaill are humming on all fronts as Friday night’s comfortable 12-point win over Four Masters in their U-21 quarter-final clash at St Mary’s Park, Convoy, shows.

Naomh Conaill 4-9

Four Masters 0-9

Eoghan McGettigan scored two of the goals and Jack Flannery and Paul McGuinness hit the other two as Naomh Conaill proved far too strong for Four Masters.

The game as a contest was as good as over at half-time as Naomh Conaill led 3-4 to 0-5.

With Ciaran Thompson providing the platform at midfield, McGettigan netted his two goals in the first half while McGuinness raised the other green flag.

And Flannery struck for goal number four in the middle of the second period against a battling Four Masters who relied on corner forward Thomas McGowan for the bulk of their scores.

Naomh Conaill U-21s now join the club’s minor team in the county semi-final. The minors defeated Aodh Ruadh on Wednesday night in the Southern Regional final.

And the club’s seniors are bidding for a place in the senior semi-final when they face St Eunan’s next weekend in the quarter final of the Donegal senior championship.
