Donegal Bay Rowing Club invited to host championships again

The All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships will be staged in Ballyshannon for a second year in a row in 2017.

The Irish Coastal Rowing Federation confirmed this evening that Donegal Bay Rowing Club, who hosted the championships in August, will do so again in 2017.

The 2017 All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships will take place at the Lakeside Centre, Ballyshannon, on the weekend of Friday 18th, Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th August 2017.

The Irish Coastal Rowing Federation stated: “We are delighted to announce that Donegal Bay Rowing Club, who were our magnificent hosts last month,have once again been given the honour of hosting the event next August.”

Bill Deasy, President of the Irish Coastal Rowing Federation, said he was “absolutely delighted” to be returning to Ballyshannon next year.

“We had a tremendous 2016 Championships and, given the feedback which we have received from our clubs, I am looking forward to returning in even greater numbers in 2017.”

He thanked the committee and members of Donegal Bay Rowing Club for their “courage and enthusiasm” adding “I know it is a tough ask but I am confident that they will host an even better Championships next year”.
