Shay Given was in goal for Stoke City, but he could do little to prevent his team going down to another disappointing Premier Division defeat.

Stoke lost 4-0 at home to a rampant Tottenham for whom Harry Kane scored his first of the season.

Given's side remain bottom of the table with just one point from their opening four games.

Carl McHugh was once again missing for Motherwell as they drew 1-1 at Ross County in the Scottish Premier.

The Leitirmacaward man hasn't played since suffering a head injury on the opening day against Kilmarnock. He is still suffering the effects of concussion.

Elsewhere Conrad Logan was substitute goalkeeper as his team Rochdale drew 2-2 at Bristol Rovers in League One.

Stephen McLaughlin was also among the subs, for Southend United, as they lost 4-0 at Scunthorpe.

In League Two, Dale Gorman was an absentee for Stevenage as they won 2-1 at home to Crawley.

The Letterkenny man was injured while playing for Northern Ireland U21s in mid-week.
