North West Golf Club's Kyle McCarron romped to an impressive five-shot win in the 12th annual McGinley Motors sponsored Rosapenna Senior Scratch Cup at the weekend when he closed with a level par 72 on the magnificent Sandy Hills Links.

Six shots clear of Eddie McCormack and Tiarnan McLarnon on five under starting the final round, McCarron’s even par effort was enough to take the top prize from former Irish Amateur Close champion Tiarnan McLarnon, who posted a fine one under 71 to finish second at level Par.

McCormack was third on one over par 216 with Co Sligo’s Serryth Heavy (222), Rathmore’s Ben Best (224) and Forrest Little’s Jack McDonnell (227) rounding out the gross prize winners.

The leading nett score was 217 by Letterkenny’s Darragh McMenamin.
