Donegal League postpones all games this weekend

Death occurs of George McMullin

The Donegal League has postponed all matches this weekend as a mark of respect to former league official, George McMullin, who died on Thursday.

Mr. McMullin was a former treasurer of the league and a long-time club member of Dunkineely Celtic.

A highly respected and extremely popular man, he was well known in sporting circles right around Donegal and beyond.

George was recently interviewed in a special feature in the Donegal Demcorat during which he spoke of his time in the game, and also his recent illness.

He was honoured with a special award for his contribution to the Donegal League at the organisation's end of season awards night in June.

Offering sympathy to George's wife and family, the Donegal League confirmed that all league fixtures scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday have been postponed as a mark of respect.
