Naomh Brid into quarter-final after good home win


Naomh Brid defeated Buncrana and move forward in to the quarter-finals after a convincing win over in Trummon.

The win left Naomh Brid in third place in the table but they qualify as one of the two third place qualifiers.

Naomh Brid were quick out of the blocks, Callum Gallagher (2), Shane Walsh and Dara Brogan pointing.

Kevin Treacy had Buncrana's first on 13 minutes but Tommy Gallagher and Shane Walsh responded, as the visitors lost midfielder Garvan Friel to a straight red. Kevin O'Loughlin had a point before Gearoid Gallagher left it 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time

Treacy and Callum Gallagher traded points before Naomh Brid opened the gap with points from Ross Gallagher and Shane Walsh.

Treacy and Shane Walsh again traded scores before Ross Gallagher sent David Walsh in to find the net. Callum Gallagher and William McLaughlin traded points in the last five minutes as Naomh Brid were comfortable winners.

Buncrana, although looking good for promotion to Division Two in the league, are now out of contention in the Intermediate Championship.
