Callaghan crowned Triathlon Middle Distance Champion

Aidan Callaghan from Letterkenny is the National Triathlon Middle Distance champion for 2016 following his success today, in Kerry.

The Letterkenny 24/7 tri-athlete clinched the title with a first place finish in the ‘Lost Sheep Triathlon’ in Kenmare Co Kerry. The triathlon was made up of a 1,900 metre swim, an 80 km cycle and a 21 km run.

Aidan, who was second in the event last year, was quickest in the cycle and was second fastest in both the swim and the run.

The talented athlete has been showing great form recently, and won the Danny McDaid 15K in Letterkenny last month.
