The organisers of the annual Schools Cross Country events at the Finn Valley Centre in Stranorlar are inviting schools across the north west to participate in this year's competitions.
It's that time of year again with the kids back to school and an invitation is going out to primary schools in the general area and to secondary schools in the North West to come along once again and participate in the annual cross country events in Stranorlar.
The events are to be held on Wednesday, September 21st (primary) and Thursday, September 22nd (secondary).
They have proven a popular early challenge over some 15 years as the response has grown with record turnout in 2015.
It's a Come and Try it educational experience for the vast number of children participating and schools are encouraged to travel in large numbers, such is the beauty of cross country that there is no limits in that regard .
In the primary school races, there are prizes for small, medium and large schools in addition to numerous individual rewards 1--10 .
In the secondary school challenge races are based simply on year group and sports teachers welcome this challenge as the programme settles in, particularly in view of the ongoing debate re the general fitness of children nowadays which has been continually highlighted.
