History was in the making last weekend as for the very first time, since the formation of the club in 1957 and the then first President, Mr W.H. Wraitt, the members played for the first female President's Prize. The honour was bestowed upon Mary P. O'Flanagan some 59 years later and she proved to be a very popular choice amongst the members. She always has kind and friendly words to greet everyone which indeed is a great trademark of all the members in B&S Golf Club itself. Mary had an excellent night in the clubhouse, with family, friends and fellow members .

Pride of place this week goes to our Seniors team, captained by Kevin Kiely, who have qualified for the final of the Donegal Seniors Match-play competition.
The team met Donegal Golf Club in the second leg of their semi-final at Barnhill last Sunday, having been two matches and 3 holes down from their first leg. Letterkenny produced another wonderful performance to win their first three matches to progress with the pairings of Danny McLaughlin/Ciaran Williamson (6 and 5) and Ed Margey/Michael Nelis (5 and 4) both winning their matches convincingly. Eamonn McGlinchey and Don Ponsonby won their game by two and one, meaning the final matches could be called in.
