Roma McLaughlin and Amber Barrett both featured for the Republic of Ireland who drew 0-0 with Wales on Friday night.

Team manager Sue Ronan praised her youthful side after an impressive result.

The Ireland squad had travelled to Wales for a training camp and two challenge matches, the first of which was played at Newport's Rodney Parade on Friday night.

The side included five debutants, Niamh Prior, Tiegan Ruddy, Roma McLaughlin (Greencastle), Leanne Kiernan and Amber Barrett (Barrett) as Ronan looks to use the training camp to assess young and home-based talent.

Barrett came off the bench on 25 minutes while McLaughlin was introduced as a substitute on 46.
