Cycling medals come back to Donegal

Fantastic performances by local cyclists at Ulster Championships

There were gold medals galore for Donegal cyclists at the 2016 Ulster Youth Road Race and Time Trial events hosted by Ballymoney Cycling Club at the weekend.

A number of local youths shone at the Ulster Championships in Loughgiel, Co Antrim, taking the bulk of the gold medals on offer throughout the different age groups of under 12s, 14s, 15s and 16s in both boys and girls.

Among the gold medal winners were Adam McGeever who won the Under 12 Boys event with Connor Gallagher 2nd and Gordy Roberts 3rd.

Cathal Gallagher of Errigal Cycling Club was first in the Boys under 14's. Donal Walsh was 2nd and Ciaran Dixon 3rd.

Clodagh Ni Ghallchoir was the winner of the Girls Under 15 Category. In the Girls U-16s, Amanda Gallagher took the gold medal ahead of Katie Armstrong 2nd and Jessica McComb 3rd.

PJ Doogan was the winner of the Under 16 Ulster title.
