Week just gets better for Donegal star McBrearty

The week just gets better for Donegal forward Patrick McBrearty.

Fresh from his man-of-the-match performance against Cork in Croke Park on Saturday, the Kilcar man has been shortlisted for the GAA/GPA July player of the month award.

The GAA/GPA All-Stars sponsored by Opel, have announced details of the shortlisted nominees in football and hurling.

The shortlisted players are:

Football:

Michael Quinlivan (Tipperary)

Gary Brennan (Clare)

Patrick McBrearty (Donegal)

Hurling:

John McGrath (Tipperary)

Jonjo Farrell (Kilkenny)

Daithi Burke (Galway)

The winners of the GAA/GPA Opel Player of the Month Awards for July will be chosen by the inter-county playing body, and will be announced on Tuesday, 9th August at 5pm with the presentation to winners taking place at Liffey Valley Opel on Wednesday, 10th August.

McBrearty scored 11 points in Donegal's win over Cork which put them through to this weekend's quarter-final against Dublin.
