Arlene Crossan into semi-final at European Youth Athletics

The great form of Donegal atheltes in the European Youth Athletics Championships in Tbilisi continued when Arlene Crossan produced a quality performance to qualify from her heat in the 400m hurdles. Her time of 61.76 seconds saw her finish second behind a Czech Republic athlete. Arlene can now look forward to a semi final tomorrow.

Later on today, Janine Boyle goes in the heats of the 200m.

Yesterday, Brendan O'Donnell of Lifford/Strabane AC won his way through to the hammer final with a personal best in his qualifying heat. The hammer final is on later this afternoon.

Meanwhile at the World Transplant Games in Finland, Kieran Murray of Ramelton goes in the 1500m.

He won a gold medal yesterday in the golf tournament
