Donegal's golfers will be keeping a close eye on the action at the British Open this weekend with hopes high for an Irish victory.
But closer to home and there's plenty of important competitions around Donegal over the coming days.
From Captains and Presidents Days to Open Weeks at a host of venues, there's something for everyone.
Here's a round up from Donegal's golf clubs -
Our Captain Donal Boyle is setting the standard as we get closer
to Captain's Weekend. He was in top form to shoot 39pts, 2 under par in windy and wet conditions.
As the greens get faster, and the rough gets really tricky, it's becoming hard to score and clever golf will be well rewarded.
A big thank you to Brendan Ward for his sponsorship of Irish Pressings.
Results: 1st Donal Boyle 39pts, 2nd Charles O Donnell 37pts BOT, Gross Derek Bonner 29pts, 3rd Anthony Gillespie 37pts BOT, Front 9 Jimmy Boyle 21pts, Back 9 Denis Bonner 19pts
Michael Boyle is getting close to the form we expect with a hole in one
at the 6th hole. However, the story is he double bogeyed the 7th!!
This weekend we have A charity open day on Saturday with 18 Hole Stableford for Cancer Care West sponsored by Serenity. On Sunday we have an 18 Hole Stroke sponsored by DSS Mary Daniel Walsh).
Alex Noren wins the Scottish Open, Andy Murray wins Wimbledon, Portugal win the Euros and Eamon Canny wins the Lady Captain's Prize to the men in Murvagh - sporting history all round.
On a difficult day Eamon shot 74 to take the Lady Captain's Prize from the grasp of Peter Sweeney and Justin Coughlan who both shot creditable 75's. Oliver Roche earned fourth spot with 76 and John Meehan steps up for the gross. We wish the Lady Captain, Ms Mary Gillen, all the best for her Lady Captain's Day on Saturday.
Next Sunday, Donegal Golf Club hosts the third and fourth rounds of the Barton Shield G.U.I. tournament so there is no competition in Murvagh. Teams from Letterkenny, Killymoon, Rosapenna and North-West will do battle for a place in the Ulster final.
The Murphy/McHardy Donegal Senior League team took, some would say, a comfortable lead away to Buncrana and went on to secure progression to the next round.
Lisburn once again did not suit our younger players as they failed to qualify in the Irish Junior Foursomes, but the experience will stand to them in the future.

On now to results and there are a number of players who have been showing brilliant form of late and look a very promising bet for our Captain's weekend. Young Michael Curran, who you may remember had a great result up in Dungannon in his Fred Daly match just a few months back, has just won his first Gross prize on Sunday and is now down playing off a handicap of eight. Keep it up Michael. Looking at recent results, a lot of other young guns are really working on their game.
