Week 2 of the Summer Showjumping League took place at Deane’s Equestrian Centre last Sunday with some super jumping and well earned rosettes going to the jockeys.
In the Starter Stakes class Dean Burgess and Yankee were back in action and flew around the course to earn a clear round rosette. Aoibhinn Connelly on Meenarillagh taking part in their first competition also earned a clear round rosette with some super jumping.
In the 50cm class Rebecca Morrow on Lincoln picked up a well deserved clear round rosette with a great round.
Next up was the the 60cm class and the riders had to work a bit harder and remember a longer course. Freya Beale on Piper was in the rosettes once again and she was joined with Amy Gardner on Oscar and new rider Amy Barron on Tango who jumped a super round. Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill riding Uisce also jumped a lovely clear round.
The 70cm class saw the regulars Ally McClay on Jayzee and Lucy Stewart on Dedo pick up clear round rosettes with great rounds. Amy Gardner on Oscar were felling brave and jumped a very quick round, Amy beamed from ear to ear as she picked up her clear round rosette.
The 80cm class had Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill in action again, this time riding Lacey and they jumped a lovely clear round. In the blink of an eye Shauneen Gallagher flew around the course on Tibby. Kelly-Ann McGrath on Lady rode a great round up to pick up their first clear round rosette of the competition.
The 90cm and 1m class had no clear rounds
Next Sunday is the local Donegal Town ShowJumping. The Summer League at Deanes Equestrian Centre returns on the 17th , 24th & 31st of July with a break on the 7th of August and jumping again with the Final 14th of August. Riders must compete in 3 competitions to qualify for the final.
