There was a great start for Ireland at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Hungary when Mona McSharry won a bronze medal on the opening night of competition.
Mona, who swims with the Marlins Swimming Club in Ballyshannon , finished a brilliant third in the 50m breast-stroke final.
The 15-year-old from Grange, had a busy day, qualifying from the morning heats as the fastest qualifier.
She swam 32.12 to qualify from the semi-final on Wednesday afternoon before swimming 31.98 to finish third in the final.
It was another fantastic performance from the Colaiste Cholmcille pupil who has been in excpetional form of late.
