St. Eunans defeat St. Michael's after extra-time at the Bridge

St. Eunans overcame St. Michael’s in a highly entertaining and hotly contested match played at the Bridge on Wednesday evening, but only one point separated the clubs in the after extra time.

The home side had the better of the first half and points three points from Michael Langan and a fine goal from Colin McFadden and another point from Lee McColgan left them well placed at the break with the visitors only replay coming three points from Sean Hume. The half time score was St. Michael’s 1-4 to 0-3.

The visitors came back strongly in the second half and further scores from Hume with Hume reduced the deficit to just two points, but a further point from Langan kept their the home sides noses in front. Eventually points from Hume and Brian McIntyre brought St. Eunans level before Hume put them ahead from a free.

However Michael Langan levelled the match with the last kick of the game to send the match into extra time.

Extra time was another tight affair but further points from Oisin Clarke and Sean Hume cancelled out a St. Michael’s point from Michael Langan to see St. Eunans progress to the next round by the narrowest of margins.
