DONEGAL RALLY: Day 3 off to a flier as lead changes hands yet again

The wet and slippery conditions appear to be adding to the excitement with the first two stages on Day 3 of the Donegal International Rally now completed.

Seamus Leonard and John McCafferty in a Subaru S14 were leading after Sunday's first stage over High Glen (Stage 15).

They had a 0.5 second lead from Keith Cronin/Mikie Galvin with overnight leader, Sam Moffett and Karl Atkinson in a Ford Fiesta R5 third (Moffett had been elevated to the top of the leaderboard overnight following changes to the official times).

Manus Kelly and Donal Barrett in a Subaru S12 were quickest over Stage 15 and were sitting pretty in fourth just 22 seconds off the lead.

However, after Stage 16, over Atlantic Drive, the lead changed hands again. Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin now lead in their Citroen DS3 R5. They have 5.6 seconds to spare over Leonard in second.

Moffett remains third with Manus Kelly fourth, 25.4 seconds off the lead.

In the National Category, David Bogie and Enda Sherry in a Ford Escort Mk2 lead the way. There's a gap of 10.4 seconds to Frank Kelly and Michael Coady with Damien Tourish and Domhnall McAlaney third.
