The third round of the News & Views Town League will take place on Saturday next June 18th. Please have the children up at pitch at 10 45am. The fixtures are Jaguars v Lions and Chargers v Raiders.The U10s enjoyed a well organised Blitz in Dunkineely last Saturday. The U12s defeated Pettigo in the league last Wednesday.

The u14 girls make the long journey to Carndonagh for a county semi final against Carndonagh.

On Friday at 8:30pm there is a meeting of the Executive Committee in the clubhouse, could all executive members please be in attendance on the night.

Also on Friday at 9pm there is a meeting regarding the upcoming 10 week draw. In the coming weeks there shall be classes in Traditional Basket Making running in the Clubhouse over six weeks beginning the last week in June. The Senior and Reserves were at home to Ardara on Saturday evening. The Reserve game was cancelled last minute, with both teams ready and waiting for a referee.

The seniors defeated Ardara on Saturday evening in Rosses Park, in the league.

Congratulations to Joe McIlroy from Acres National School and our under 10 team in playing for the Donegal Cumann na mBunscoil team v Fermanagh at halftime in last Sunday's Ulster Championship match.

The Club Cul Camp for boys and girls aged 6 to 13 will be held in Rosses Park on Monday the 27th of June until Friday the 1st of July. It starts at 10am and finishes at 2.30 pm each day. Contact John Ward on 0866036406 to register.

The U8s played Ardara on Saturday morning.

The Dungloe/Gaoth Dobhair U14 hurlers overcame Four Masters in their championship semi final on Thursday past. This is a fantastic achievement and sets them up for a chance to win the U14B Championship for a third year in a row.

Congratulations to both boys and girls of Scoil Chróine Dungloe who won their respective county finals in Cumann na mBunscoil last week.

The U-14 county girls recently reached and competed in the Ulster Championship final which was a great achievement They were unfortunate to lose out in the final to a strong Cavan side. Our very own Helena McGee played an integral role in the U-14 set up and played a key role in the final.

Well done to our u-14 boys who had a great championship win over Letterkenny Gaels last week.

Well done to our U-14 girls on winning the division 2A semi final at home against Convoy on Saturday.

Naomh Muire will host a Cúl Camp from the 27th June - 1st July. This Camp is for primary school children aged between 6 to 13 years old. The camp will run from 10am until 2.30pm each day. For more details, please see our Facebook page or the Cúl Camp’s website. Another summer camp will follow later in July, details to follow.

Congratulations to the 2016 Country Queen Kellie McLaughlin who represented Canny & Doherty Supervalu and well done to everyone who participated. All the money raised goes to Charity with this year’s going to the Jack and Jill Foundation and Meningitis Research.

There was no winner of this weeks jackpot of €600. The numbers drawn were 1-5-3-7-6-4-2. The €50 was won by Orlaith Harkin. Next weeks jackpot is €650.

The under 12’s were away in Ardara at a blitz on Saturday where they made the Shield final which they lost to Naomh Padraig Muff. The club would like to thank the Ardara club for their hospitality on the day.

The under 12’s also had a great victory last week coming from nine points down at halftime to win 3-08 to 3-10. The under 10 team had a great day out on Sunday at the Donegal match.The under 10 girls beat Buncrana last week. The under 12 girls beat Burt.


A massive thanks to all our club members who worked hard from early morning to make Sunday’s big game a success. Nearly 16,000 people were in our grounds and everything ran like clockwork. Well done to Marty and the Donegal team and good luck in the next round versus Monaghan.

Lidl through a new store competition which started on Thursday 26th May and runs until Sunday, 10th July, Lidl Donegal Town customers are invited to nominate their local Ladies Gaelic Football Club to win cash prizes.Using the nomination card, offered at the till with every purchase (two cards given for over €20 spent) customers can vote for their local club from the list of clubs on the in-store competition unit.

€1,000 is available to be won in each store with an additional three prizes of €5,000 to be won on Lidl's social media platforms.

There was no winner of the Club Lotto Jackpot so next week’s Jackpot is €5,000. This week’s numbers were 2, 7, 8 and 16. The €50 was won Emma McCloskey, Towney, the €30 by Seanan McGowan c/o Allen Gaels, the €20 Glenda Dolan and Margaret McShane.


The weekly lotto draw took place on Monday 13th June 2016. The numbers drawn were 2, 7, 13 and 15. There was no jackpot winner. One person, Pat Farry, Lifford, matched 3 numbers and won €100.

Next week’s jackpot will be €2050.

The senior team was defeated by Convoy at the weekend in a high scoring encounter.

There was no winner of Guess the Score competition which the club was running for the Donegal v Fermanagh Ulster Championship quarter final. The winner of the best sellers prize was under 6 star Jenna Lynch.


The Under 14 girls will play Tuesday evening 14 June 2016 in Tir Chonaill Park against Urris in the semifinal.

The U10 boys played in Naomh Brid on Saturday. The A-team had three great 12 minute games against their U11s with the game ending in a draw. The U9s were streamed into two teams on the day. They had a few good games. The U10s are out again for their home blitz on 2nd July.

We held our annual camogie and hurling blitz on Tuesday May 31st. We welcomed schools from the town together with first appearances by St Peter's, Mountcharles and Sessiaghoneill's from Ballybofey. Congratulations go to the winning boys team of St Francis, Barnesmore and the winning girls team from Scoil Aodh Rua Agus Nuala.

Congratulations to Cathal McGlynn who was recently selected for the County U16 hurling squad.Cathal has also been nominated along with five other county players to try out for the U16 Ulster squad.

The U-14 hurlers finished their campaign for 2016.

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot €1400 in week 48 of the 2015/16 season draw held in the Abbey Hotel on Monday the 13th of June. The €25 winners in the lucky dip were Mary Timoney, Castle Street, Marian McAnaw, Drimark, Michael Meehan, Drimark, Ernan McGettigan, the Diamond. The numbers drawn were 4, 11,14, and 20. The seniors and reserves lost away to Naomh Conaill on Saturday evening. Well done to Martin McElhinney, Christy Toye, Colm McFadden and Mark Anthony McGinley who were part of the Donegal that defeated Fermanagh in Ballybofey on Sunday last. Congratulations to Mark Anthony on making his championship debut.

There was no jackpot winner in the mini lotto on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 3,5,7,11,12,16. Two people matched five. The were Shaun Boyce, Centra Dunfanaghy and Monica and Kelly Rojas, Florida. This weeks Jackpot be €2400.

Well done to Mary Ann Mullen, Courtney Brennan and Marcella Dolan who were part of the Cloughaneely under 14 girls team that beat Convoy in the county semi final and now play either Aodh Rua or Killybegs in the final.


The Frank O'Neill Memorial tournament final took place last Saturday and was was won by Dylan Gallagher's team. They defeated Michael McKenna's side in a hard fought game which saw some excellent passages of football from both teams. J C Mc Garrigle, Pauric Keenaghan, and Nathan Owens-Kelly all had excellent games for the winning team. Captain of the team Dylan Gallagher played a captain's role and deservedly got man of the match. Thanks to referee David Hoey who did an excellent job and also thanks to David O'Donnell of Kernan's Spar for the crisps and drinks after the game.

Aodh Ruadh secured their place in the under 12 divisional final last Wednesday when they defeated Naomh Conaill up in Glenties.

On Thursday evening 15 Aodh Ruadh and Realt na Mara players from local schools participated in our qualification round for the Donegal Creameries sponsored skills competition. Mairtín McGarrigle came out on top with 95 points and went on to the county final in MacCumhaill Park the next night. Mairtín, representing Gaelscoil Éirne and Aodh Ruadh came fourth out of 33 in the county final skills competition.

Congratulations to Aaron Neilan, Ryan Keenaghan and Damian Weber who saw action for Donegal during the halftime games in the Ulster SFC quarter-final in MacCumhaill Park on Sunday.

The under 12 girls wrapped up their Southern league campaign with five wins from five against a brave Kilcar outfit.

The Aodh Ruadh hurlers registered a good win the Ulster Táin League Division 2B when they saw Naomh Columcille on a 1-13 to 1-8 scoreline on Sunday.

The under 14s were away to Letterkenny Gaels in the Championship semi-final on Thursday last. The lads were much too strong for the Gaels lads and were convincing winners. They are now through to the B championship final where they will play the strong amalgamated Dungloe / Gaoth Dobhair team

After a couple of months planning the under 14s are away to Tipperary this weekend for the National Finals of Féile na nGael. We are being hosted by the Fethard club in South Tipperary. We are in a group with Fethard, Carrick Davin's of Tipperary and Ballyvarley from Down.

We encourage club members to come out and support the coffee morning in Kilbarron House this Saturday 18th June. It runs from 10am to 4pm and is a fundraiser for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Last Friday evening the under 12s continued their terrific season with a victory against Kilcar in Dooey.

The senior squads game against Muff this weekend has been put back to Friday 24th June.

The lotto draw took place last Monday night in the hall. Numbers drawn were 12,24,25 and 27. There was no jackpot winner on the night. Two lucky dip winners receive €50. They were Ciara and Jason Hanlon, Toome and Breda Breslin, Boyoughter. Next week’s jackpot now stands at €3150.


Last week saw Red Hugh’s host Naomh Colmcille at the Cross for an u8 and u10 blitz. Both teams played exceptionally well in glorious weather. The future is bright for Red Hugh's with some exceptionally talented footballers in both age groups.

The senior men continued their good run with another great victory against Pettigo on Saturday night.

The club will be running the annual Cul Camp the week commencing the 11th of July to the 15th. Applications can now be done online and the club will be holding a registration day on the 18th of June at the Saturday morning underage training.

Monday 6th June, lotto numbers drawn were 2,8,13,24. The jackpot was not won. The €50 winner was Anthony McLaughlin, River Row. Next week’s jackpot is €7,000.


Best of luck to our U14 hurling Feile team next weekend in Tipperary.

The U10 Boys travelled to a tournament in Ardara last Monday. The two teams played their hearts out and with pure determination and skillful football helped one team get to the cup final beating Killybegs, Ardara, Temon on their way. Unfortunately it wasn't our day as Naomh Columba narrowly beat us in the final. The second team made it to the shield semi final beating Killybegs, and Kilcar but found Four Masters too strong.

The U-10 girls played MacCumhaills and after great performances all over the pitch by all girls and in a very close game late points Ciara McGee made the difference and the Buncrana girls came away the win.


There was no jackpot winner in last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 2-4-11-22. Three people matched 3 nos to share the €100 prize. Next weeks jackpot is €5550 and next week’s bingo snowball is €4660.

The young footballers had a busy weekend at blitzes with the U-10 team travelling to Glenfin on Friday evening and the U-8s travelling to Robert Emmetts on Saturday. Well done to Letterkenny Gaels clubman Matthew Winters who was part of the Donegal Cumann na mBunscol team that played against Fermanagh at half time during the Ulster Championship Football match in Ballybofey on Sunday. Matthew represented his school Scoil Naomh Fiachra Illistrin and scored a goal and a point in the process.

In the Cumann na mBunscol competition Illistrin National School were beaten by Buncrana National School in the County final on Thursday. Letterkenny Gaels players that played in the final for Illistrin were Matthew Winters, Darragh Toye, Ciaran Gallagher and Dylan Condron.

The young camogs travelled to Donegal Town to take part in a blitz organised by Four Masters on Saturday past. This has been a busy couple of weeks for the girls and they were delighted to take part.

We're down to the last few days before the draw, and would ask for everyone to give a couple of hours selling tickets before the draw in the Lagoon on Saturday.

It was great to see Caolan Reid and Patrick McDaid take to the field in their Donegal jerseys for the Cumann na mBunscol game at half-time, last Sunday in Ballybofey.

This year’s 5k takes place in two weeks’ time, Tuesday 28 June at 7.30 pm, from An Craoibhín to the pitch, with refreshments afterwards at An Craoibhín.

In their last game of the championship our U14 B girls squad were fantastic against group leaders Cloughaneely at home on Wednesday afternoon last. The Termon girls were quick off the mark and led for most of the first half. Unfortunately, despite coming out guns blazing again in the second half, Cloughaneely came back to win. They then played a very strong Ardara side at home on Tuesday evening and again our girls won 5-7 to 4-7 to qualify for the county final.

The under 14 boys won their championship group game on Friday last. The under 12 boys play away in Milford on Wednesday evening.

Last week's lotto draw was held in Nora's. The numbers drawn were 2,8,12 and 26. There was no jackpot winner or Match 3 winner. Open draw winners were Andy McFadden and Eddie Morrison. Next week's draw takes place in McClafferty's with Don Gallagher and Benny Gallagher co-ordinating, and the jackpot now stands at a very nice €1,600.


The club's annual 5k takes place on Tuesday next at 7.30pm. There will be pre-registration on the Monday night between 6.30pm and 8pm and on the evening of the race from 6-7pm.
