Carl McHugh offered new contract at Plymouth Argyle

Despite suffering heartbreak in the Division Two play-off final against Wimbledon on Monday last, Carl McHugh has been offered a new contact at Plymouth Argyle.

The Leitirmacard man has been one the big successes at Plymouth this season in a new holding midfield role.

He is one of 13 members of the squad who have been offered new contacts after narrowly missing out on promotion to League One.

In the promotion play-off final at Wembley on Monday, Hugh played in midfield for a Plymouth side who fell behind to a Lyle Taylor goal on 79 minutes.

Wimbledon sealed a 2-0 win and ensured it was to be a day of disappointment for McHugh, when Adebayo Akinfenwa scored an injury time penalty.
