All is good in Towney as Kilcar cruised to another comfortable league victory with a fourteen point win over Termon in Towney on Saturday night.
Kilcar . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1-16
Termon . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0-5
With nine different scorers and without Ryan and Eoin McHugh, Kilcar simply had too much all over the park for the men from the Burn Road.
Termon were minus their marquee forward Daire McDaid.
Kilcar led 0-8 to 0-2 at the end of a slow burning first half and after racing into an early 0-4 to 0--4 lead courtesy of Stephen McBrearty, Mark Sweeney, Mark McHugh - who had a good game at centre half back - and Pauric Carr.
Ricky Gallagher, who scored four of Termon’s five points, converted from close range for his first white flag.
But by the time Gallagher posted his next, this time from play, Kilcar had added another four with Patrick McBrearty, Mark McHugh, Ciaran McGinley finding the range for Martin McHugh’s men.
Aodhan McGinley with a super goal three minutes into the new half set the tone for the second period.
And in a flash Kilcar were 1-12 to 0-3 in front as Matthew McClean, goal scorer McGinley and Ciaran McGinley added further points. Gallagher and Austin Marron responded before Kilcar headed for second place on their own in the Division One table with late points from Matthew McClean, Ciaran and Aodhan McGinley and Mark Sweeney.
Following St Eunan’s defeat by Gaoth Dobhair in O’Donnell Park, Kilcar are now in second place on their own in the Division One League table. They are just one point adrift of the leaders, on 12 points from their six wins and one defeat.
They face St Eunan’s in the championship in O’Donnell Park next Sunday.
