Thanks to a magnificent return of 0-13 from captain Niall O'Donnell, Donegal minors will contest the Ulster Minor League final on Saturday next where they will meet old foes, Tyrone.

Shaun Paul Barrett's side needed extra-time to overcome a strong Monaghan challenge. Indeed, they needed a late point to gain that extra period as the sides finished 0-18 each at the end of normal time.

But in extra-time, Donegal pulled away thanks to two quick Eoghan McGettigan points and further scores from O'Donnell to prevail 0-23 to 0-21.

Donegal scorers - Niall O'Donnell 0-13, 8f; Eoghan McGettigan 0-3; Jason McGee 0-2,2f; Aiden McLaughlin, JD Boyle, Odhran Shields, Kieran Gallagher, Ciaran McGinley 0-1 each.

Donegal U-17s also prevailed against Monaghan by 4-10 to 3-7 to also reach the Ulster U-17 final.
