The two North West 10k charities, the Irish Pilgrimage Trust and Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland, Donegal Branch, are now embarking on a range of fundraising initiatives ahead of the big 20th anniversary event on Sunday, May 1st in Letterkenny.
The North West 10k committee is asking runners and walkers to support these two very worthy causes by taking out sponsorship cards which are now available from Anne Condon at the Letterkenny Chamber, Grand Central Comple, Canal Road. (Tel 9124866. email – firstname.lastname@example.org).
The Irish Pilgrimage Trust brings 500 young people with special needs from all over Ireland on a pilgrimage holiday to Lourdes annually at Easter. The Donegal branch who have been taking children and young people for the past 30 years are in final stages of preparations to travel this weekend to the Holy Shrine.
The trust also provides respite holidays during the year for young disabled people at their specially designed houses in Galway and Wexford.
Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland, Donegal Branch is fundraising towards facilitating a respite location in the county for families locally and across the country to enjoy a fully accessible, well planned accommodation in a beach front environment.
To date 31 Donegal based charities and organisations have benefited financially from the North West 10k with €710,000 raised.
