BUNCRANA

Buncrana got their league campaign off to winning ways on Saturday evening with a five point win over Downings.

The reserves had a comfortable win in a one sided affair. A team with a great element of youth such as Ryan McElhinney, Andrew Doherty and Lee McCarron. John Cassidy was also strong for the reserves and mixed with the experience of players like Ronan Doherty and Ronan Doherty (X) Buncrana went in well ahead at half time.

Well done to all who helped make last Thursday such a memorable day for Buncrana GAA. From the underage blitz, to the chefs who slaved over the cooker for our breakfast baps, to the parents and coaches who organised the parade float, and to those who called for breakfast, a big thank you.

Easter Monday will see the senior hurlers start their Ulster Tain league Division Three campaign when Louth side Naomh Moinne will be visitors.

U8 played in a hurling Blitz in Claudy on Saturday against Banagher and Ballerin. After getting there late we had four games no scores were kept all playing their part in the games. Some very promising young hurlers. They all gave their best and everything that was asked of them. Best on the day was Danny Doherty Conor Donaghy Rhys McGory Stephen Carey Jay Huston David McLaughlin.

MALIN

Malin got off to a great start on Sunday with a home victory in their opening game in Division Two of the all county league over Killybegs

The reserves were beaten in the reserve game on a scoreline. There was no winner of this week’s jackpot of €1350.The numbers drawn were 6-5-4-2-3-1-7. The €50 winner was Catherine Rose Hannigan, Stranorlar and the €20 euro sellers prize went to Ciara Houten. Next week’s jackpot is €1400.

Membership closes on Good Friday. The last collection will be lifted in the clubhouse between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

NAOMH MUIRE

The seniors were defeated by Dungloe on St. Patrick’s Day, in the Comortás Na Gaeltachta.

The reserves and seniors travelled to Mountcharles on Sunday for the start their league campaign. A good performance by the reserves got them a draw in their first leagues outing of the year.

The seniors were defeated after having two players sent off in the second half.

The senior ladies play their first game of the season this Friday in Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta against Termon, the game will be played in Termon at 5pm

We will hold an Easter Camp starting on Tuesday the 29th of March running until Friday the 1st of April from 10am until 2pm, for children aged 7 years and upwards. To register or for more details check our Facebook page or text 0876684200.

Congratulations to Jack O’Brien, Hugh “The Yank” Boyle and Gary Boyle who were all involved in the U21 team who defeated Derry on Wednesday evening.

A final registration morning will be held this Saturday the 26th, from 10-11.30 am.

The seniors played Naomh Mhuire at The Banks on St. Patrick’s day. Goals by Adam Neely and Conor Greene fired Dungloe to a derby win, booking their place in a county semi-final of Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta.

The seniors and reserves got their league campaign underway this afternoon to St.Michael’s at Rosses Park. Both teams got off to a winning start.

The ladies are hosting a 5k family fun run / walk on Friday the 25th of March. Registration will be at the clubhouse at 4:30pm with the run beginning at 5:30pm. Entry is €5 or €20 for a family.

CILL CHARTHA

The seniors and reserves got their division one campaigns off to winning starts away to Bundoran on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

The third and final community day ended on Monday evening, 63 people helped out over the last three Saturday's. The executive would like to thank very much everyone for all their hard work, help and assistance. The project is now 95% complete and one evening this week should finish all the work

Gaelic4girls starts in Cill Chartha on Thursday March 31st in Aislann Cill Chartha with an information evening for parent/guardians, it for girls from 8-12 years and a sample of a training session for girls with their coaches It introduces girls to football in a fun environment and participants get a G4G T shirt and certificate on complication Cost of the programme is €8 for the 12 weeks. LETTERKENNY GAELS

The senior and reserve footballers kicked off their seasons with two away defeats to Naomh Brid.

Letterkenny Gaels are hosting an Underage Fundraiser in Arena 7 from 5pm to 7pm this Friday 25th March. All under 6, 8, 10 and 12 football, camogie and hurling players are invited to attend.

Our U-14 hurlers made the trip to Ballyshannon at the weekend to compete in the Donegal Feile na nGael qualifiers. The lads played three games and saw them taking victory against Four Masters and despite putting up impressive performances unfortunately fell short against Setanta and Aodh Ruadh.

Our minor footballers lost out by the narrowest of margins to neighbours Glenswilly on Monday night at Pairc na nGael. They are fixed to play Buncrana at the Glebe next Wednesday evening.

Sympathy is extended to the Murray family, Lisnennan on their recent bereavement.

CLOUGHANEELY

Hard luck to our minors who were beaten by a strong Gweedore side in Magheragallon on Monday evening. The lads put in a big effort with Noel Sweeney, Jason McGee, Michael Fitzgerald and Denis Coll showing particularly well.

NAOMH PADRAIG (LIFFORD)

The weekly lotto draw took place on Monday 21st March 2016. The numbers drawn were 2, 17, 19 and 23. There was no jackpot winner. Two people matched three numbers, both receiving €50. They winners were:Patricia Friel, 21 Clonleigh Park and Bridget McKinney, Murlog. Next week’s jackpot will be €1450.

The senior team got their season off to a winning start on Saturday with a victory away to Convoy.

FOUR MASTERS

The men’s senior and reserve teams are hosting a fundraising quiz night in Dom’s Pier 1 on Friday the 1st of April starting at 9:30pm. Entry fee is €5 per person and teams of 4 people are recommended.

The winner of the lotto jackpot of €5,100 in week 34 of the 2015/16 season draw held in the Abbey Hotel on Monday the 21st of March was Ian McCauley. Congratulations to Ian. The next draw takes place on the 28th of March.

NAOMH CONAILL

There was no winner of this week lotto. The numbers drawn out were 2-11-15-19 and the €50 went to Paula Gallagher, Derryconner, Gortahork c/o Doc and Evelyn Whyte Ardara. Next week’s Jackpot will be €5,600.

Final membership registration day will be this Friday 25th March from 4-5pm in the clubhouse. No membership can be taking after the 31st March as it is too late.

There will be a club meeting held in the clubhouse regarding this year’s Co Gaeltachta on Thurs 24th March at 8.30pm(after mass).

The minors started off their league campaign with a good victory at home to Ardara winning on Monday last. The U14s were beaten at home by Aodh Ruadh last Friday evening.

Our seniors and reserve games against Termon were called off on Sunday due to a death in Termon.

ST EUNAN'’S

The seniors and reserves got their league campaigns underway in Gaoth Dobhair at the weekend. The seniors lost a late lead after Gaoth Dobhair were awarded a penalty but still came away with a point. The Reserves had a good win. A good start for David McGinley’s reign.

The minor boys football Division One team had a good win over Naomh Colmcille on Monday night.

The U14 leagues begin this Friday (Good Friday) with the Div. 1 team at home to Downings.. The Development team (U13) travel to Buncrana for their game.

Congratulations to Anne Nicholls and her team on their fantastic showing once again in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. They won Best Sports Entry and the Overall Award.

The senior board presentation will take place on Saturday, April 9th. The junior men’s footballers and U21hurlers have their county medals to collect. Pat Connaghan, who won championships in 1969 and 1972 will become the latest member of our Hall of Fame.

The Century Cinemas Sunday Morning Football Academy has finished indoors and will start outdoors on Sunday week, April 3rd at 11am.

AODH RUADH

This Saturday we host the National Hurling League Division 3A Final between Monaghan and Roscommon in Father Tierney Park at 4pm. This is a national senior grade final and it is a real vindication of Ballyshannon's county ground status that we have been selected for this fixture. We will need key stewards present at the Park by 2.30pm and all other help by 3pm.

We are nearing the end of the crucial month for club registration with GAA membership deadline of March 31st looming. Registaration at clubrooms on Good Friday from 1pm to 2.30pm.

Aodh Ruadh Easter Camp will run from Wednesday 30th March to Friday 1st April. Brian Roper is organising the camp and you can contact him on 0876139065 to book a place or get further information.

An exciting under 14 game in Glenties last Saturday saw Aodh Ruadh emerging victorious for the first time in many years against a strong Naomh Conaill side.

The under 12s will travel to Croke Park on Saturday 26th for Donegal's match against Dublin. On the way we will have challenge games against Cavan Gaels, throwing in at 11am and Dublin outfit Erin's Isle, throwing in at 3pm.

Pride of place this week goes to our under 14 hurlers who won the Donegal B Féile competition on Sunday and as a result qualified for the National Finals of Féile na nGael which are being jointly hosted by Tipperary and Waterford in June.

This small squad of just 17 players have worked very hard for the last month and have done everything that was asked of them.

The Donegal Leagues begin this Thursday with the under 14s up against Dungloe in Father Tierney Park.

The seniors got their first League game of the season of to a good start with a win over Naomh Muire while reserves drew with Naomh Muire.

SEAN MACCUMHAILLS

The club extends its deepest sympathy to the family of the late Noel McColgan. Noel took on the management of the Mac Cumhaill’s junior team in 1985 and had great victories on the way to the Junior A county final but unfortunately losing out to Fanad Gaels in Falcarragh. The minors had a hard fought battle in Convoy this evening with scores from Carl Dunnion (0-7) Chad McSorley (1-2) and Matthew Doherty (1-0) to defeat Convoy 2-9 to 2-5.

The hurlers travel to Tyrone on Monday to play Naomh Colmcille in the opening game of the Ulster Tain League.

Well done to all the ladies from the club who represented Donegal at different age grades over the weekend. It is great to see the talent we have from the club reaching the top stage. We'd like to remind all senior ladies that the date for our first game is the 10th of April.

Both the seniors and the reserved were defeated by Dungloe on Sunday in the first round of the league.

St Michael's played Milford at home at the Bridge last Monday evening and came out convincing winners.

NA ROSSA

Well done to the seniors as they started their league campaign with a one point victory against Robert Emmets at the weekend.

Well done to Declan, John and Christian as the Donegal U-21s qualified for the semi final of the Ulster championship after their victory over Derry.

The lotto draw took place last Monday evening in the hall. Numbers drawn were 16, 22, 23 and 28. No jackpot winner on the night . Two lucky dips receive €50 Pat Glackin Farrigans and Dominic Gallagher Farrigans. Next week’s jackpot is €25.

The men's teams got their league campaigns off to a winning start on Sunday with two wins over Four Masters in the opening games in Division Two of the All- County Football League.

The seniors got off to a winning start to 2016 League over in Clonmany last Saturday against Urris. The reserves lost their game with Urris.

Our seniors and reserves got the league campaign off the ground against MacCumhaills in MacCumhaill Park on Sunday but lost out in both games. Final score in Reserves MacCumhaills 2-12, Glenfin 1-9. Scores were Ross McDermot 02 and Paul Bonner 01.

In the senior game McCool were more efficient with their chances and ran out winners on a score line of 2-13 to 0-7.

Next up for the Seniors and Reserves are Malin in the league at home on Monday 28th at 1.30pm and 3.00pm.

NAOMH BRID

Childrens Officer Sally O'Donnell received a very special thanks from the 'Ray of Sunshine Foundation' for the GAA kit which went down a treat in Kenya.

The seniors lost out narrowly to Cloughaneely in the opening game of league. On Monday they travel to The Banks to take on Naomh Muire. It will be a big game for manager Danny O'Donnell as he takes Na Galloglaigh back to his home club. Throw in times are 1.30pm for Reserves with Seniors at 3pm

Co. Minor girls: Hard luck to the girls who lost out to a stronger Armagh team at the Burn Road on Saturday. We were delighted that under the captaincy of Lauren, Meabh, Emily, Sonia and Orla, together with manager Trevor Alcorn, were able to play on their home ground.

The U14 boys play their first game of the season this Friday night away to Letterkenny Gaels. Players are asked to be at the gaels pitch at 5pm.

U-12 girls training will start on Wednesday 6th April from 6.30-7.30

The boys minor team had a hard fought win against Letterkenny Gaels in the league.
