The long awaited Fight Night fundraiser was a huge success with the Rosses Community School Gym packed to capacity for the x14 highly entertaining fights. All-Star fullback Neil McGee was on hand to present the prizes on the night.

The club wishes to thank those who attended and sponsors, the boxers and the ight night committee who put in a great effort over the last six weeks.

Càtriona Solan performed at the Scor Sinsir Ulster final in Downpatrick at the weekend. Unfortunately, Càtriona did not enjoy any success. However, from all at the club we would like to congratulate Catriona on reaching the final and doing her club and county proud at the highest level.

The Reserves were in action on Sunday in Comórtas Sóisear Peile na Gaeltachta, Cill Chartha The fixture was played as a friendly as Cill Chartha forfeited the game before throw.

This weekend the club was represented at provincial and national levels as members took part in The Ulster GAA’s Elevate award in Armagh, at the national Healthy Club Initiative at Croke Park, ladies FUNdamental training in Glenswilly and also we had the official launch for WAAR was also hosted in the banks at the weekend. CILL CHARTHA

Our reserves beat Naomh Muire in the Junior Gaeltacht on Sunday away by 1-7 to 0-7.Conor Doherty was part of the Trench Cup winning Dundalk IT side on Saturday. Hard luck to Martin, Paddy and Ryan who lost narrowly to DCU in the Sigerson Cup semi-final on Friday. Our seniors and reserves are away to Bundoran in the opening Division One match on Sunday 20th March

Best of luck to the Colaiste na Carraige Under 16s in the Danske Bank Arthurs Cup semi-final against Ballybay CC in Irvinestown this Tuesday evening.

Under 14 boys training on Mondays in Aislann Chill Chartha. Players should wear appropriate indoor gear, gum shield and bring bottle of water with them. Parents should drop child into Áislann and come into Áislann to collect them. Under 12s training and Under 16s training on Saturday mornings both also in Áislann Chill Chartha.

Ladies training on Monday evenings in Aislann Cill Chartha for anyone 15 years and over who want to play Under 16, Minor and Senior this year. BUNCRANA

A big well done to Laurence Hegarty on the success of our club presentation night last Friday night. Well done to all who picked up medals on the night.

A special congratulations and thanks to Grainne McCarron who was awarded club person of the year on Friday night. Grainne has been a major influence in our club over the last number of years and has worked tirelessly on behalf of Buncrana GAA.

Last weekend University of Ulster, Jordanstown hosted the Higher Education GAA competitions. Buncrana had representation at all levels, Corn Na McLeinn, Trench Cup and Sigerson Cup. Four of our senior footballers made it through to the semi final and final stages weekend in what is trademark competition for 3rd level GAA. We congratulate Kevin Tracey, Peter McLaughlin, John Campbell and Caolan McGonagle on such a fantastic achievement.

Club membership is now due. You can renew your membership online making it easy to do. Many thanks to everyone who support the club in the GAA national draw. We had two winners so far from the club. Paul Green won €500 (2nd prize) and Margaret McAteer was the winner of 100 (8th prize) in the draw at county stage. Further draws take place for the national draw in March.

NAOMH COLMCILLE

There was no winner of this weeks lotto Jackpot of €2,750. This week’s €25 winners were Peter Doran, Mary Gallagher and Kieran and Darina Friel.

The Under 18s training is already up and running and the Under 16s will be starting in the coming weeks and the Under 14s are continuing with their circuits down in the Club House on Monday nights.

The CCC have released the fixtures for all competitions for the coming year, the seniors and reserves have been entered in the Tim Farren and Philadelphia Cups respectively with the fixtures for all being posted in due Course.

TIR CHONAILL GAELS

We are fast approaching the London St Patrick’s Day Parade and once again TCG Youth will be taking part by walking in the parade. All are welcome to attend (children must be supervised by an adult). Malin drew their opening game of the Tom Farren Memorial cup against St. Mary’s Faughanvale away on Friday night. It took a late Dan McDaid goal to gain a share of the spoils in this new pre-season tournament. Terence Coulhoun and Anthony Kelly, joint managers for 2016, put out an experimental line out and will be happy to get their season up and running with a good competitive game in which they came from six points down in the second half to level. The goals came from Jonathan McLaughlin and Dan McDaid. The team on the night was Darragh McLaughlin, James Gallagher, Michael McLaughlin, Conor Byrne, Thomas McLaughlin (Ban), Declan Walsh, Conor Farren, Anthony Kelly, Kieron McColgan, Jonathan McLaughlin, Dan McDaid, Jonathan McCarron, Paul McLaughlin, Christopher Doherty and Gary Farren Sub: Edward Kelly.

LETTERKENNY GAELS

Registration for existing and new club members takes place this Saturday 27th February from 2-4pm at the club room.

The presentation evening for U-12 to U-16 footballers took place at Pairc na nGael on Saturday evening past. On the night Charlie Cannon presented the awards to the following: U-12 Footballer of the Year: Niall Murray, U-12 Most Improved Player : David Henry, U-13 Player of the Year: Ben Gallagher, U-13 Most Improved Player : Liam McAlary, U-14 Player of the Year: Ronan Frain, U-14 Best Trainer of the Year : Shaun McGilloway, U-16 Player of the Year : Shay Doherty, U-16 Best Trainer of the Year : Conor Cullen. This year we will have Ladies and Girls football for U-12, U-14, Minor and Senior.

Hard luck to our seniors who lost out to Ardara in the Gaeltacht on Sunday last in horrible conditions. Nevin’s Cookery Demo takes place this Thursday 25th February in The Abbey Hotel at 7 p.m. Celebrity chef, Nevin Maguire has chosen to host this event in aid of St Naul’s GAA Club.

REALT NA MARA

The minors will begin their league campaign with an away fixture in Dunkineely on Sunday March 6th followed by a home match against St Nauls.Last weekend they enjoyed a competitive challenge match against St Eunans.Training continues for the minors on Thursdays with U16 training on Tuesdays.

ST MICHAEL’S

The Club held a very successful dinner dance in Arnolds Hotel Dunfanaghy on Saturday night last. The club’s successful senior team who won the All County League Division One in 2015 were honoured. The special guests on the night were Mick McGinley (Hudai) originally from Kilmacloo in Creeslough who won a junior league medal with the club in 1954. Mick was inducted into the Hall of Fame by Liam McElhinney. Local man Eamon McFadden from the Donegal Democrat was also a guest on the night.. The senior team were presented with their medals by Mick McGinley (Hudai) and Eamon McFadden. The following club awards were also given out on the night. Eoghan Kelly received award for being part of the Buncrana Cup and Jamie Hunter and Odhrán McFadden for being members of the county under 17 team.

Michael Langan who is the club’s sole representative on the county U-21 taam received an award from Michael McColgan.

The other award winners were: Young Reserve Player of the Year; Jamie Hunter; Reserve Team Player of the Year; Denis Trearty; Young Senior Player of the Year Award; Geoffrey Black; Senior Players of the Year: Ciaran Gallagher and Andrew Kelly; Appreciation award; Eddie Harkin; Clubperson of the Year Award; Brian Dolan by Danny Langan.

Volunteers required the club are looking for two volunteers to help with the preparation of accounts for the club. The volunteers should be familiar with a computer but do not need to be an expert. AODH RUADH

Aodh Ruadh hosted their annual awards night a stone's throw away from Father Tierney Park, in the Rock Hall. Sean Perry was Master of Ceremonies and got the night going with recognition of our silverware winning county stars. First up was a presentation Sarah Patton who was a member of the 2015 Ulster ladies senior championship winning team. She was followed by club members of the 2015 Under 21 All-Ireland C Hurling championship winning team; Oisin Rooney, Rory Cullen, Eddie Lynch, Ciaran Rami and Conor McNeely.

The 2015 Southern Minor League champions. It was double joy for Philip Patton who also picked up the Minor footballer of the year award. The individual awards continued after that with Shelly Loughlin named Ladies player of the year, Oisin Rooney selected as minor hurler of the year, under 21 hurler of the year going to Conor McNeely, Ciaran Rami picking up young hurler of the year and Stephen Sheerin scooping the prestigious hurler of the year award. After that proceedings moved on to the football awards. The Under 21 footballer of the year award went the way of Eamonn McGrath, while Reserve team player of the year was picked up by Anthony Coughlin. The Young footballer of the year award went to rising star Calum O'Halloran. The Ciaran Keon senior player of the year was presented to Diarmaid McInerney. The Sean Slevin club person of the year was awarded to David McLoone. The night concluded with tokens of appreciation being presented to the outgoing chairman and secretary, Diarmaid Keon and Emma Gaughan. There were also presentations to the outgoing senior management of Packie McGrath, Val Murray, Sean O'Mahoney, Damian Conlon and Jim Kane.

The monthly club meeting takes place this Thursday, 25th February, in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh at 8.30pm. The first five rounds of league fixtures have been published and the opening to Peter Gallagher and James O'Donnell's campaign looks like this. Aodh Ruadh are home to Burt in their first game on Sunday March 20th.

Indoor training continues this week with the under 6s in the Hall at Creevy National School from 6pm to 7pm followed by the under 8s from 7pm to 8pm, also at Creevy. The under 10s are training in the new hall at Coláiste Cholmcille from 6pm to 7pm and that session is followed by the under 12s from 7pm to 8pm, also in the new hall. There is a charge of €2 per head. Please bring your own water and wear runners as no other footwear allowed. Parents / Guardians are asked to please collect children promptly after their session is finished.

Thanks to everyone who supported the scrap fundraiser over the past few years and to John Rooney for his central role in getting the ball rolling. This has contributed to fundraising in a significant way. The initiative has now come to an end and no further scrap items should be left at our grounds.

The Park / Development Committee will require some stewarding help on Sunday, March 6th for a Ladies NFL Division 2 game between table-toppers Donegal and Clare.

Aodh Ruadh were delighted to hand over the proceedings of the Kickabout For Colman over to nominated charities, Grasp and Hand in Hand, last week. Each group received €700 thanks to the festive kick- about in memory of Colman Kerr.

Last week's €400 jackpot prize was shared between Noelle Gillen and Mary McWeeney of Ballyshannon. There was no winner of last week's Aodh Ruadh Lotto jackpot of €3,300. The winning numbers drawn were 5, 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17. The seniors and reserves kick off their 2016 campaigns this weekend in the Gaeltacht. The seniors are away to Dungloe on Saturday, while reserves are away to Glenswilly on Sunday.

Our Easter camps take place on the 30th of March till the 1st of April, the camp is suitable for ages 6 to 14 and the cost is €35 for 1 child, €65 for 2 children and €80. for 3 children. The camp starts at 10am and runs until 2 pm over the course of the 3 days .Each child will receive a Naomh Columba jersey. Our lotto hits €4000 this week please continue to support it.

MILFORD

Hard luck but still a massive well done to our Instrumental music group of Caoimhe Ni Raghallaigh, Kyle Macauley, Eoin and Liam Orr and Noel Lineghan who participated in the Club’s first ever the Ulster Scor Final last Saturday in Downpatrick. Unfortunately no club from Donegal were successful in the competition but nevertheless it was a huge achievement to get so far. A special word of thanks too to our Cultural Officer Brendan Ward for all the hard work he does behind the scenes for Scor events.

Na Galloglaigh got life under new management off to a winning start on Saturday with victory over an understrength Gaoth Dobhair in the Senior Gaeltacht. The boys will now play the winners of Cloughaneely or Termon at home in the quarter final which is scheduled for the 12th of March.

The first five fixtures of the 2016 season have been released and see Na Gallaoglaigh play at home to Cloughaneely in their first Division 2 game in 23 years.

Well done to Conall McFadden who was physio for UCD during their Sigerson Cup winning campaign which saw them defeat DCU in the final at the weekend.

This weeks lotto numbers were 8-13-18-24. The jackpot was not won. There were two match 3 winners, Ciaran McHugh, and Gabrielle and Kieran Fitzsimons won €35 each.. Next week’s jackpot is €1,980.

There was no overall winner of this week’s Lotto draw, which was held in Country Inn. The Jackpot now stands at £1,200. The numbers drawn were 1,7,10,14,and 24. The £25 winners were: Aveen McGuinness, Mardi Ward, Cara Tracey, Michael Walls. Next week’s draw will be held in Dew Drop Inn on Monday February 29th.Naomh Brid had their first outing for 2016 against Clady in a challenge match on Sunday last. It was a good workout and in the end there was just two point margin in it to Clady. Darragh Brogan and Gormley brothers were best for Naomh Brid.

This coming Saturday the seniors are away in Sligo and are playing under lights.

Planning meeting has been re-scheduled for March 12th at 10am in the Sandhouse Hotel.

2016 Gaeltacht: Our reserves had a good victory over Termon in the Junior Gaeltacht on Saturday last on a score line of 07 to 1.03. Termon started the best and had a 1.01 on the score board before Glenfin registered a score, but 3 late points brought Glenfin back into the game and left the half time score at 03 to 1.01. Termon with the wind in their backs for the second half failed to take advantage of it and only scored 2 point and with the home team registering 4 point left them with the 1 point victory. Glenfin scores were Ciaran Moy 02, Hugh Foy 02, Conor McBride 02 and Jason Marley 01.

Handball: Well done to all our Hand-ballers who represented Donegal in the Ulster Handball competition on Sunday last the 21st in Belfast. Handball training for all National schools on Monday nights from 6.30pm to 8.00pm

CLG Gleann Fhinne held its annual presentation night in Harkins bar Brockagh on Saturday night last. It was great night and many thanks to all who attended.
