Donegal boxers to take on Clare

Donegal take on Clare this Saturday night in an inter-county boxing tournament in Ennis.

Manager Thomas McCarron and coaches John Elliott and Dominic McCafferty have named a strong 15-man team made up of Pauric O’Donnell, Matthew and Mark McCole, Dungloe; Hugh Doherty, Eddie McEleney, St Bridgets; Liam Crawford,Tommy Doherty, Raphoe; Ryan Ward Mulrine, Bryan McNamee, Convoy; Kyle McDaid, Brian Elliott, Martin Lynch, Illies; Bernie McDonagh, Dunfanaghy; Jack Greene, Carrigart and Cathal Gallagher, Twin Towns.

The Donegal team travel down on Saturday morning and the first fight is timed for 5 pm in the Community Centre. James McCarron from Carrigart is the travelling judge/referee. The team is staying overnight in Ennis.

Meanwhile, Donegal boxing club are putting the finishing touches for an intercounty tournament between Donegal and Kildare on March 12th, in the Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town.
