Donegal Ladies made it two wins from two games in the Lidl Ladies Division Two with a big win over Laois in Moville, yesterday afternoon.
Donegal . . . . . . . . . . 4-11
Laois . . . . . . . . . . . . .1-3
Niamh Hegarty (2), Geraldine McLaughlin and Yvonne McMonagle scored the goals as
Donegal proved too strong for the visitors.
This game as a contest was as good as over at half-time as Donegal led 2-8 to 0-1 after playing with a strong breeze and having missed at least another three goal chances in the opening 30 minutes.
“We dominated the game from very early and we were totally on top in the first half,” said Donegal boss, Micheal Naughton.
“We scored two very good goals and we missed at least another three,” added the boss.
Niamh Hegarty and Geraldine McLaughlin scored the first half goals. Despite facing into the elements in the second period Donegal continued to dominate.
And Donegal hammered home their advantage with two quick goals on the resumption with Laois only scrambling their goal late on.
“It was good to win and it was good to do it playing so well against a good Laois team that only dropped down from Division One at the end of last season.”
Karen Guthrie marked her return from a long lay off with three points in a game that Donegal had top class performances right through the team.
Donegal’s next game is away to Sligo next Sunday.
