After another good win in Ballyshannon over Cork, Donegal are in a very healthy position at the top of Division One after two rounds of games.
Donegal, along with Dublin and Monaghan, have full points from their two games, but Donegal have a much superior score difference after their 10 point win over Cork in Fr. Tierney Park, Ballyshannon.
Dublin had two points to spare over Mayo on Saturday night, winning 0-9 to 0-7 in Castlebar while the shock result of the weekend in Division One came in Killarney with Roscommon defeating Kerry by 0-14 to 1-10 while Monaghan had two points to spare of Down, 0-13 to 0-11.
The league now takes a three week break and Donegal are taking the opportunity to go to Tenerife for four days of warm weather training.
They will travel with a pep in their step and many were surprised at the quality of their performances against Down and again against Cork, especially in conditions that were not conducive to good football.
When the league returns on the weekend of 27/28th February, Donegal will have another home game against a Mayo side who have some ground to make up.
The other fixtures for round 3 in Division One are - Dublin v Monaghan (Saturday 27th), Cork v Roscommon and Down v Kerry.
