The groups were for this season’s Ulster Senior League Cup will see last year’s finalists Cockhill Celtic and Drumkeen United in the same five-team group.

Donal O’Brien’s Cockhill won last year’s final 1-0 thanks to a Garbhan Grant goal and also lifted the Ulster Senior League title ahead of Mickey Rodgers’ team.

A tricky Group A sees Kildrum Tigers, Swilly Rovers and Bonagee United jostling for the two semi-final places on offer.

Club delegates voted for an earlier kick-off in the Ulster Senior Legue this season, so the weekend of February 23 will see Swilly take on Drumkeen as Kildrum welcome Cockhill.

Group B is made up of Fanad United, Derry City, Finn Harps and Letterkenny Rovers. Trevor Scanlon’s Rovers are away to Finn Harps in their first outing while Michael Deeney takes charge of Fanad United for the first team against Derry City.

Meanwhile, assistant secretary Mark Duffy was also appointed as the new disciplinary officer, who replaces Dessie Kelly in the role.

The pairings for the Knockalla Caravans Cup will be made at a meeting of the Ulster FA on Thursday night.
