Lynch takes over at Red Hugh’s

Former Tyrone All-Star John Lynch is the new manager of Red Hugh’s GAA club.

Former Tyrone All-Star John Lynch is the new manager of Red Hugh’s GAA club.

Lynch from Castlederg, Co Tyrone, was a member of the O’Neill County team defeated by Kerry in the 1986 All-Ireland final.

He has been coach/trainer with a number of county development squads in Tyrone and in recent seasons and he has also worked with a number of club teams in his native county. His most recent involvement has been with Coalisland and he is currently working with Peter Canavan in Fermanagh.

In the past he also spent a brief spell playing with Red Hughs in the late 1980s early 1990s. He takes over from former Donegal All-Ireland winner Donal Reid who stepped down after three years in the position.

Red Hughs play in Division Three of the Donegal All-County Football League and in the Junior Football Championship.
