Ciara Foy of St Mary’s, Convoy, created her own little bit of GAA history on Friday evening when she became the first female to take charge of an adult GAA game in Donegal.

Ciara was in charge of the Sean MacCumhaill’s v Killybegs Division Two Reserve League game and came through with flying colours although she did have to show a straight red to Maurice Laverty of MacCumhaills in the second half. MacCumhaills won the game narrowly by two points.

Ciara along with Siobhan Coyle of Fanad were recently added to the Donegal Referees panel.
