FINN HARPS manager Peter Hutton has confirmed the club have signed Letterkenny native Ciaran Greene ahead of their first pre-season fixture at Limavady United tonight (kick-off 7.30pm).
Twenty-four-year-old Greene has been playing for Glencar Celtic in the Donegal League for the winter having made the switch from Letterkenny Rovers, for whom he signed for in 2009 from Sligo Rovers.
Greene made a Premier League appearance for the Showgrounds side alongside Bohemians in 2008 and the left-sided player is also a useful Gaelic footballer having helped St Eunan’s to three successive senior county championships between 2007 and 2009.
Adam Clarke and Hugh Carlin have also agreed terms with the Ballybofey side. Clarke, a 22-year-old left winger who was previously on the books of Limavady and Institute, joined from Limavady, while Carlin, who is 21, can play along the backline having moved from Dergview.
“It’s good to get a few faces in,” Hutton said. “They’ll hopefully bring something different to what we have.”
Harps have three further friendlies arranged, all away from home. This Friday they will take on Donegal League Division One outfit Curragh Athletic (7.30pm), before visiting the Brandywell for a fixture against Derry City on Tuesday, February 7 (7.45pm) and Dundalk’s Oriel Park on Sunday, February 19 (2pm).
