A fine individual display from Letterkenny Rovers forward BJ Banda was the difference between the teams as Rovers defeated Cappry Rovers 6-1 to progress to the final of this season’s Ulster Youth Cup.

Banda scored five goals in the game as Eamonn McConigley’s men proved too strong for Cappry. Rovers had recorded a slender win over Cappry earlier in the season, but it was much more comfortable on this occasion as Banda had scored a hat-trick by the 34th minute.
Letterkenny dominated possession from the off and took the lead with only seven minutes on the clock.
A Gareth Doherty corner was met by the head of Banda and he found the target despite the best attempts of Cappry defender Matthew McGinley.
Banda doubled the advantage after 15 minutes, and he completed the perfect hat-trick - scoring with the head, the right foot and the left foot- in the 34th minute.
Cappry pushed forward in droves after this and for the remaining ten minutes looked very threatening and began to get a foothold in the game.
Eoin Burke had a half-chance on 37 minutes, before they got a goal back five minutes later.
Evan Gibbons played a lovely pass through the Rovers defence to Stephen Carr, who chipped Anthony O’Hagan.
Letterkenny started the second half in the same vein as the first and their insurance goal arrived on 66 minutes when Adrian Delap squared into the path of Gavin McDaid who found the net with a sublime finish.
Banda made it 5-1 on 70 minutes following a long clearance from Anthony O’Hagan. The in-form striker completed the rout after a mix-up in the Cappry defence led to an easy finish on 82 minutes.
Fanad United or Swilly Rovers will be the opposition for Letterkenny in the final.
