Stephen McLaughlin endeared himself to Nottingham Forest supporters on his debut on Monday.

The former Finn Harps winger set up a goal for Matt Derbyshire on just 91 seconds against Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship.

Forest ran out 2-0 winners at Elland Road with Derbyshire adding a second goal.

McLaughlin, who is from the Doagh Island, Ballyliffin, joined Forest from Derry City in January 2013 for £160,000.

The 23-year-old played for Clonmany Shamrocks before spending the 2009 and 2010 seasons at Finn Park.

McLaughlin helped the Derry City to the 2012 FAI Cup and was on loan at Bristol City earlier this season from Forest.

Monday’s win means Forest are in seventh place in the Championship, one point behind the last play-off spot that is currently occupied by Brighton & Hove Albion, who visit the City Ground on the last day of the season.
