Letterkenny Institute of Technology ladies face UCD ‘B’ on the Port Road Campus in the semi-finals of the WSCAI Division One play-offs on Thursday, kick-off 2pm.
The team had been travelling to Belfield for the tie last Wednesday but midway through the journey were informed the pitch on Dublin’s southside was unplayable.
Competition rules state that if there’s a postponement after the visiting team has started travelling there will be a switch in the venue.
Niall McGonagle’s team defeated University College Cork’s second string at Athlone IT earlier this month to book a last four place.
LyIT won a tight affair by a single goal, which was scored by Shannon McDonald on 15 minutes.
In the first round, LyIT came through a four-match round robin to qualify ahead of IT Sligo and Galway-Mayo IT.
UCD beat GMIT 2-0 in the last eight.
The other semi-final will see Waterford IT face Trinity College Dublin.
“It’s great to get the chance to play at home as it’s as big a fixture as the girls have had at home,” McGonagle said.
“UCD are always a good side but we would consider ourselves quietly confident with the match at home.”
