Seamus Coleman has been named as Everton FC’s player of the season so far - by the Premier League club’s fan on the official club website.
The Killybegs native has enjoyed a wonderful first half to the campaign, scoring six goals from right-back under the management of Roberto Martinez.
The story from the Everton website reads:
“Picking Everton’s best player of the 2013/14 season so far was always going to be a tough task.
“But when we put it to a poll among Evertonians, there was a clear winner. Seamus Coleman’s sensational goalscoring form saw him emerge as the fans’ number one performer – with a whopping 43.8% of the vote.
“The Irishman’s six goals from right-back mean he is the Club’s second top scorer behind Romelu Lukaku. He’s also helped the Toffees keep nine clean sheets this term.
“Following Coleman in the standings was Ross Barkley, the youngster having announced his arrival on the Premier League scene with a series of powerful performances in midfield.
“And summer arrivals James McCarthy and Gareth Barry were also among the players to capture significant votes from Blues fans.”

Ross Barkley: 15.6%
Gareth Barry: 10.6%
James McCarthy: 9.6%
