A former English international is among those that have applied for the vacant Finn Harps manager’s job, club secretary John Campbell has confirmed.
While Campbell was not willing to name the applicant he did confirm that he was among 12 applications the club had received for the position by last Friday’s closing date.
“We’ve had a great response and we are really delighted with both the number and the standard of the applicants,” said the Harps official.
“We’ve received applications from a number of very experienced managers that have managed in the League of Ireland in the past, and we have also received an application from a former English international.”
Harps officials will go through the applicants in more details this week and they hope to begin the process of interviewing the candidates from early next week on.
“The plan is to select an initial three or four candidates for interview and we will then take it from there. We hope to begin the interview process from next Monday, and the plan is to have manager in place by the end of November at the latest.”
The position became vacant following the resignation of Peter Hutton at the end of the season.
