Donegal GAA officials have launched an investigation into the incident which marred the end of last weekend’s All-County Football League Division One reserve game in O’Donnell Park.

Secretary of the Donegal CCC, Sean McGinley, confirmed that the CCC had launched the investigation after discussing the referee’s report at their meeting last Thursday night.

In the incident two players, St. Eunan’s Ronan Lennon and an unnamed Naomh Conaill player, were removed to Letterkenny General Hospital from injuries suffered in the flare up. Both players were released from hospital again on Sunday night after receiving treatment.

“It was a serious incident and we are treating it very seriously. We discussed it first on Tuesday and decided to have a meeting of the CCC on the matter on Thursday night. And at that meeting we set up a small committee to investigate the incident and we expect that committee to get down to work immediately and to act swiftly and then report back to the CCC,” said Sean McGinley.
