Eamon McGee is looking forward to playing in the Ulster final again having missed out on the last two finals.

“It is nice for me personally to be looking forward to the Ulster final because I missed the last two. I was just back into the squad in 2011 and I missed last year’s final through injury,” said Eamon.

“So hopefully, I can stay injury free over the next few weeks and hold my place for the final. That is my goal and objective and hopefully that is the way it works out because it is a special day and a special occasion and it is good to be part of it and nothing beats playing.”

Reflecting on the game Eamon felt the reason it turned out to be the kind of kind of game that it did was down to the fact that Down had a point to prove after last year’s final.

And this combined with some complacency that had seeped into the Donegal camp were the reason it was so close.

“It is difficult not to let all the talk about that we will have no bother with Down not to seep through. After all we all have go to work and are meeting all the time.”
