Finn Harps right-back Damian McNulty faces up to a month on the treatment table having accidently stood on glass at home.

McNulty, who received 10 stitches, informed manager Peter Hutton of the news on Wendesday. The Derry native will therefore miss Friday’s trip to Waterford United (kick-off 7.45pm). Tommy Bonnar is suspended.

Ciaran Coll is not a definitive starter having had an ankle injury prior to the mid-season break and it’s hoped Sean McCarron and Gary Merritt will return from ‘flu.

Shaun McGowan, James Doherty, Mark Forker and Paul McVeigh are back int he squad having been given a two-week club suspension after playing in the Arranmore Challenge seven-a-side against Hutton’s wishes.

“They’ve all apologied and we’d like to put the issue behind us,” Hutton said of the quartet.

Harps played a mixture of senior players in a Magee Summer Cup in Derry, where they made it to the final and lost on penalties, while the Ulster Senior League team has been in action three times.

“Busy, busy, busy,” was how manager Hutton summarised the past fortnight.

“We played a lot of matches so got back into training late. We’re looking to get some consistency going now for the second half of the season.”
