Football and Hurling Stars support the GAA’s Irish language campaign
The GAA’s Coiste na Gaeilge is pleased to confirm that some of the Association’s top footballers and hurlers have agreed to participate in a campaign to raise awareness of the close ties between the GAA and the language and to try to encourage more people to speak whatever ‘Gaeilge’ they have.
Marc Ó Sé, Neil McGee, Ciarán Kilkenny and Joe Canning have all recorded video messages explaining their involvement and their support for the idea. They speak about their own use of the Irish language and how important it is that all of us take ownership of it by using whatever Irish we have.
The recordings are 30/40 seconds in duration and will be shown on the large screens on match days around the country for the rest of the season, most notably at Croke Park.
The key message will also appear in GAA Match Programmes.
