A magnificent second half recover saw Malin come from seven points down to take a share of the spoils at Connolly Park.

Naomh Conaill got off to a great start with five points on the trot in the opening 15 minutes with scores from Dermot Molloy, Leon Thompson and Darragh Gallagher.
Malin’s John Gerard Mc Laughlin hit a point from the 30 yards to place Malin on the scoreboard. N. Conaill’s Leon Thompson, and Johnny Mc Loone, who had a possible goal chance, placed two more points for the visitors leaving the half-time score Malin 0-1 N. Concaill 0-8.
But it was a different story in the second half with Malin storming back into the contest. Seamus Houton got a touch the ball onto Micheal Byrne long shot over the bar and this was followed by John Gerard Mc Laughlin, who got in behind the Glenties defence to find the net.
A further three points from Terence Doherty, Anthony Kelly and Paul Mc Laughlin got Malin right back in the contest.
Dara Gallagher’s attempt was stopped by a great save by Malin goalkeeper Declan Lafferty. Anthony Kelly got another point which was replied by two points from the N. Concaill.
But it was to be John Gerard Mc Laughlin’s day as he got a monster point from the right in the 58 minute. A free saw Anthony Kelly get a point in the dying minutes of the game leaving both sides even.
